We are VORN - The Berlin Fashion Hub. VORN is a digital and physical space in BIKINI Berlin where innovations for sustainable development in the fashion industry are collaboratively conceived, communicated, and implemented.

VORN - The Berlin Fashion Hub is commissioned by the Senate Department for Economics, Energy, and Businesses. As a registered cooperative, we operate with a profit-oriented but socially-oriented approach. We provide a space for exchange and knowledge transfer, serving as translators and mediators between high-tech development, the fashion industry, and the creative economy.

To support our team, we are looking for a responsible individual to help us fully realize the potential of VORN eG in the future.

In a nutshell:

As Head of our Communication Team, you will be responsible for all communication of our registered cooperative. This includes Public Relations as well as Partner Relations. You lead the development of our brand identity and positioning meticulously and structured towards sustainable growth and learn together with us what that means for our cooperative. 

Your responsibilities:

Communication and PR

  • Strategic planning of campaigns

  • Execution of campaigns throughout our channels: LinkedIn, Instagram, Newsletter and Circle

  • Keeping the website up to date

  • Copywriting 

  • Public Relations to press and partners

  • Maintaining and developing CRM 

  • Preparation of communication kits, pitches, presentations and briefings in layout and content

  • Key account management of partners

  • Coordination of freelancers (e.g. graphic designers, PR, IT)

    Branding and Art Direction

  • Strategic development and maintenance of our CI, look and feel and tone of voice

  • Concept development and selection of visuals for campaigns, events and space

    PR and Events

  • Strategic planning of all communication events

  • Strategic planning of all press related events

  • Creation and execution of communication plans

  • Preparation of communication kits, pitches, presentations and briefings

  • Further establishment and maintenance of the press distribution list

  • Maintaining and developing relationships with the German speaking press

  • Invitation and guest list management for public and internal VORN events

  • Writing press releases for external communication

Communication and Marketing

  • Writing texts for external communication, such as communication kits, pitches, presentations and briefings

  • Creating the layout for presentations, as well as for external and internal documents

  • Written and verbal communication with clients and partners involved in VORN projects

  • Strategic execution of all communication topics with clients and partners involved in VORN projects

  • Creating briefings for graphics, images, and moving images

  • AI Image search and selection to match the VORN brand identity

  • Editing of photographs and basic graphic design and layout in the daily business

Social Media & Owned Media

  • Further establishment and development of the VORN social media strategy (Instagram, LinkedIn, Newsletter and the VORN website)

  • Digital creation and posting of social media content on Instagram and LinkedIn

  • Writing and sending out the VORN newsletter once a month

  • Maintenance of the VORN website, writing of news articles, creation and copywriting of sub-sites and microsites

Your skills and experience

  • At least 3- 5 years experience in public relations and corporate communication

  • Copywriting in German and English

  • Strong organizational skills and experienced in dealing with multiple digital tools such as Google Suite, Meta, LinkedIn, Squarespace and creative programs such as Adobe Creative Suite, Figma, Canva and similar

  • Familiarity with common communication tools and platforms, as well as the ability to quickly learn new technologies

  • Already have an established network to the German speaking press

  • Experience in social media management (design, layout, posting, texting
                captions and analytics) for Instagram and LinkedIn

  • Experience in newsletter marketing

  • You are committed, communicative, flexible and like to work in a team

  • Ability to juggle multiple tasks, set priorities, and meet deadlines. 

  • You can communicate clearly and professionally with other teams (You have an ability to communicate clearly and concisely, both verbally and in writing.) Both with customers and suppliers. You have the ability to understand the perspectives and needs of others and develop solutions that work well for all parties. 

  • German and English, internal communication is conducted in English due to our diverse team.

  • Enthusiastic about positive impact and the sustainable transformation of the textile and fashion industry and basic knowledge of the industry

  • You have an intrinsic interest in making your work and that of others easier using systems, standardization, and similar approaches, and you are adept at optimizing them yourself
